I went tonight to the 3D showing of Pixar's latest film, "UP." It was simply wonderful! The details and color were great, but the story line was even better!

This is one of Pixar's best films. This wasn't like most Pixar films, where they predominately aim it at the younger audience, but rather they did a splendid job at blending the storyline for both adults, and children.

The first 12-15 minutes were amazing. They show you a "story w/in a story" which explains why "Carl" the grumpy old man....is grumpy. Love and death are all part of the picture. From the reviews, this part can be a tear jerker. Be prepared.

The little boy named Russell, was quite the opposite of Carl. He was cheery, and quite lively. You enjoy his character because he doesn't come off as the typical annoying, mis-behaving child, but rather just the opposite. Russell is one who wants to help "the elderly" to earn his badge, but is also willing to go further and do the "right" thing as you'll see later on.

The other main character is a lovable little golden dog, named "Dug." Dug is hilarious. He not the smartest dog, but easily makes up for that with his gigantic, gentle, loving heart. He sets aside the norms, and greatly helps develop the story line as well.

The bad guy...is sinister, and evil. You'll see.

To wrap it up, it seemed to me that this movie had several story lines going at one time...a hard feat, especially since they could be distracting. But it wasn't. Together they form beautiful pictures, pictures of: love, loyalty and new beginnings.

It is by far the BEST film of 2009. Not only is this "kid friendly" but adults will absolutely LOVE this film as well!

I gladly give it 4.5 of 5 Stars!

Let me know what you think of it!

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

i THINK Xanga is dead.................................................................................................would you agree...

???????

Encouragement...

I've been encouraged lately by seeing others feel the call to ministry. One got accepted last night. It's exciting!

I'm about to read Francis Chan's new book called "Crazy Love," and John Stott's book call "The Cross of Christ."

I'll let you know how they are...

UNSCRIPTED: The Real Palin Family...

Want to know if Gov.

Well BREAKING across the nation today was the news: John McCain picks
Veep- Gov. Sarah Palin! Folks, Republican's couldn't have asked for
more! I'll explain a little later...

Most analysts, on all the major networks were taken by surprise. The
only analyst who picked her was Scott Rasmussen (great pollster).

Here's why Gov. Sarah Palin is a GREAT PICK!

1. She satisfies Conservative Republicans (whether you like it or not
they ARE the Republican Base) who were apprehensive of McCain.

2. She might draw from those 18 Million female voters who are ticked
that Obama never even vetted Hillary Clinton, not to mention the sexist
treatment she received from the typical news networks.

3. Unlike Obama who has championed his campaign on "Change" and then
picks a SIX TERM Senator (Joe Biden) who is deeply entrenched in
Washington, McCain picks an "outsider" from Alaska.

4. Gov. Sarah Palin now BALANCES the "historical" possibilities factor.
Obama- the first African American nominated for President. Sarah Palin
- the first female to be nominated to the Veep spot. (She just broke
through those "18 million cracks in the glass ceiling." (Obama could
have had both, but FOOLISHLY rejected Hillary...along with her
guaranteed 18 MILLION female votes.)
These are just a few reasons...

NOW the GOP and McCain have wisely contended that Obama doesn't have
the experience needed to run the country. Democrats fired back today
saying the same of Sarah Palin. Consider the FACTS:

1. Obama has served a TOTAL of 143 days as a US Senator. (A good portion of which he has been spent on the road campaigning.)

Sarah Palin has served 1.5 terms as a State Governor (which is a microcosm of the US Presidency.)

2. Democrats CAN'T and WON'T use this argument against McCain...b/c he blows them out of the water, hence the attacks on Palin.

3. Obama has never had to submit any type of budget. Palin has, for the most energy rich state in America: Alaska.

4. Obama who is the "student," now wants to "teach." Palin is the "student" who can quickly and wisely learn from McCain.

5. Obama thought that Iran was a "tiny country" which poses no threat.
Hmmmmm...might Israel think the same? I think McCain and Palin know the
truth.

6. Obama in his speech at Invesco Field, told his supporters that
within 10 years he would cut our "addiction to foreign oil" but he
didn't mention how other than saying that he would spend 150 BILLION
dollars. Sarah Palin, knows about the energy crisis, and is in the
process of getting a natural gas pipeline to tap Alaska's rich natural
gas, and pipe it down to the 48 States.

Lastly we'll look at the Obama associations issues...

1. Obama held his first fundraiser with William Ayers a home grown
terrorist, who bombed the Pentagon with the terrorist group called the
"Weather Underground."

2. Obama also took money from Tony Rezko, who was corrupt, and found guilty of wire fraud, bribery, money laundering etc.

3. Obama sat in Rev. Jeremiah Wrights' church for 20 YEARS, while
Wright spewed his anti-American drivel such as "God DAMN America,"
blaming America for AIDS, and genocide.

4. Obama talked in his "historic" speech about being his "brother's
keeper and sisters' keeper." Obama's dad fathered 8 children by
multiple women. One of them died which leaves 7 living. One of Obama's
half brothers was tracked down to a remote slum/village near Nairobi.
His name is George who lives on LESS THAN ONE DOLLAR a month! If Obama
just gave him 24 dollars it would double what George lives on for 2
years! "Brother's keeper?!?!?!" Sure.............whatever helps you
sleep at night Obama.......

Just to name a few...

Now let's look at what McCain and Palin have done...

While Obama, experimented with drugs (which he confesses to in his
autobiography,) John McCain was being tortured in Vietnam for serving
in the US military.........seems equal...right?!?!?!?!?!

Gov. Sarah Palin, knowing and lovingly brought her youngest baby boy
(Trig) into the world...knowing full well that he would be a special
needs child (Trig was diagnosed with Downs before he was born.)

Both McCain and Palin have a record of fighting corruption, while Obama revels in it.

McCain and Palin value Human life. Obama was asked when life begins and
he replied "it's above my pay-grade." Folks, Obama is 47 years old, and
he doesn't know when life begins? Don't Democrats pride themselves on
knowing science?

I could go on and on...America wake up. Consider the choices. Seems pretty easy to me....

He was a successful business man, which means he truly knows the workings of our struggling economy...and how to go about fixing it. He knows how to grow American businesses, and thereby improving all the social classes by lowering taxes etc.

2. He was a Governor of Massachusetts which is a microcosm of the US Presidency. He knows how to balance the budget etc.

3. He's Pro-life. He caught some flack for being pro-choice at one point in his history, but he admitted it was a mistake and has been Pro-life ever since.

4. He's a great orator, which will be needed if he will be up against Obama, and or Hillary.

5. He believes in a better America, and yes all the candidates would say that. Flash back to Ronald Reagan; Reagan truly believed in the American people like Mitt does. Mitt is unlike the Democrats who also "believe" in the American people, but believe that we're a bunch of inept people, who need them to continue our existence.

6. Lastly I believe that this election in essense will be very critical to the GOP and what it stands for. I truly believe that the GOP is trying desperately to slack off on some its basic fundamentals. For instance, why is Rudy even in the GOP picture being "pro-choice, pro-gay marriage?"

There...I've said it. If you're a Republican, I challenge you to come up with a better candidate of the 4 and explain why they would be better than Mitt. You'll be hard-pressed to do so.

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

Car wrecks aren't fun...especially when the person who hits you is un-insured. Hello deductable...
